Week at Vanson Measuring for Custom Garments

1) Neck
Around neck, just below Adam's apple.
2) Upper Chest
Across front only, from arm/chest crease to arm/chest crease (or where arm contacts chest), about 3” below the hollow at the base of the neck.
3) Chest
Around fullest part of the chest with tape parallel to the floor, and with arms at sides (for women, around fullest part of bust as shown in point #41). To get a more accurate measurement raise arms above head, wrap tape around chest and then lower arms. Be sure that the tape has not moved down in the back.
X 4)Waist
Measure around the waist at the bellybutton, where you have the elastic belt of the Vanson Measuring Device. Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor.
5) Beltline
Around body at top of pants waistband (not over the waistband). Note for Women: if your beltline is at (or above) the waist, please take a meas-urement halfway between the waist and hips (about 3-4” below the waist). Add it to the measuring form or on a separate note and label it “5A. Mid-Hip”
X 6) Waist to Neck, Front
Measure from the hollow at base of neck, to the waist at bellybutton keeping the tape against the body. For women, follow the curve of the bust.

7) Neck to Beltline, Front
Measure from the hollow at base of neck to the top of the pant waistband.
X 8) Waist to Neck Back
From the base of neck (where the vertebrae protrudes from the spine) to the waist. Make sure that the Vanson Measuring Device is still at the bellybutton and parallel to the floor.
9) Neck to Beltline Back
From the base of neck (where the vertebrae protrudes from the spine) to the top of the pant waistband.
10) Across Shoulders
Measure straight across from shoulder bone to shoulder bone. It can be difficult to locate the shoulder bone: please see detail below for clarification on where to start (and end) this measurement.
