Intricately made, it features inset leather panels, framed by turned and top-stitched leather shapes. The large back panel inset is cut from the heart of a skin - an extravagant use of material. Conceptually, the CRUZ was designed to facilitate the use of contrasting leathers in the inset inlays. For example, perforated leather inlays framed by solid leather shapes, perhaps of a different color or texture, would make a very interesting, lightweight and comfortable jacket.

Using a binding to join the athletic mesh lining and the shell into one unit gives a jacket that's easy to wear with minimum bulk. The collar, the wrist zippers with shaped guards, and beaded wrist ends are classic racing suit style. As are the Vanson ovals on each shoulder, and the closed-cell foam padding under the elbow panels. Two exterior zip-close hand pockets and two zip-close interior pockets make things functional. The black metal hardware is subtle. Overall, the CRUZ is an unconventional concept and design, perfect for those warm days when almost nothing else is right.
