For once... a Vanson that takes its style cues from somewhere else. In this case the classic 517 jeans, which date from 1969, the year of the legendary Woodstock concert. Described as having a normal waist, they are slim cut and have semi-boot-cut bottoms. To contemporary metropolitan eyes they look somewhat high-waisted.

The result is a pair of pants that can move comfortably anywhere, whether on the bike or downtown. The legs are cut in one piece, from the middle of the hide, and supplied extra-long so they can be trimmed to fit exactly. The comfortable rayon lining may easily be pulled out for hand washing; the belt loops will take a two-inch belt and, as with denim jeans, there is a small watch pocket on the right.

Selected skins are gently tumbled for extra softness
and a slight pebble look. Milling brings the grain up
making the natural markings a little more pronounced.
Garments made of this leather will require very little
breaking-in time as the leather is soft and supple right
away.
