Vanson builds a great backpad. We start with quarter inch closed-cell foam that has been laminated to Velcro-compatible tricot on both sides. This is cut to shape using our water jet. To that we rivet, using nylon medical rivets, custom molded HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) shapes that nest, one partially over the one above it, providing an uninterrupted yet flexible barrier of protection along the center of the backpad.
