With the traditional Vanson Competition Oval and checkered flags screened across the back, and racing-suit-style competition oval on the left front chest, the designs we first used working the pits at Daytona.Every spring, while it was still cold in Massachusetts, Daytona beckoned. Once at the track, set up in the pits, and working on keeping the race suits safe, we needed an identifying look for our people. The checkered flags celebrated hard-won victories, and the Vanson Competition Ovals came right off the suits. That's how it all started...
